2. Data we collect and why

• Account data — name, email, login credentials, profile photo: account creation and sign-in (contract performance).
• Professional data — affiliation, ORCID, research interests, publication and review history: reviewer matching and journal workflows (legitimate interests).
• Content — manuscripts, reviews, messages, support requests, uploaded documents (receipts, accreditation files): providing the Service (contract performance).
• Usage and device data — log data, IP address, device identifiers, product telemetry: security, fraud prevention, and product improvement (legitimate interests).

Where required, we rely on your consent (e.g. optional marketing) and will process data to meet legal obligations.

3. Who we share data with

• Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, storage, analytics, and support tooling.
• Paddle (Merchant of Record) — for the sale of our products, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
• Paystack — for Naira-denominated card and bank payments.
• Professional advisers — legal and accounting, where necessary.
• Authorities — where required by law.

4. Retention and security

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, after which it is deleted or anonymised. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, and role-based access controls.
